About Us

The Massachusetts Justices of the Peace Association, Inc. is a non-profit educational Association, which was founded in 1975. It is designed specifically to enable Justices of the Peace to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of their office in a professional and efficient manner. The Association exists to ensure that each member is performing in such a way as to bring "honor and integrity" to the office.

Meetings are held quarterly and include speakers and/or workshops on subjects of interest, and "hands-on" applications regarding the duties and responsibilities and specialized techniques for officiating at weddings and renewal of vows. An education convention, to which all Justices of the Commonwealth are invited, is held yearly.

Our membership consists of Justices from all over the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which enables us to put you in touch with a Justice of the Peace in your particular area. We are pleased to help prospective brides and grooms make "a good match" with the Justice who officiates at their wedding. Among our membership are Justices who are proficient in other languages in addition to English, including French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and American Sign Language for the Hearing Impaired.

Any questions you have regarding Justices of the Peace in Massachusetts or the Massachusetts Justices of the Peace Association, Inc. can be answered by calling the Association at (800) 663-8867.

The registration form will be available for download on or about 19 May 2008.
